Employee's fingertip amputated when caught by storage rack

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on June 1, 2000, Employee #1 and his supervisor were working in a debris box, moving sections of discarded metal storage racks before shipping. Employee #1 stumbled and as he fell backward, his glove became caught on pieces of the steel racks, pinching and amputating the tip of his left middle finger. He was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
