Employee Fractures Back in Fall During House Construction

On July 5, 2005, Employee #1 was working for a company that performed new house construction. He was framing a house in Fresno, CA. He was working on the second floor, using flooring plywood as a work surface. He had one sheet of plywood on the edge of the floor joists, with half of it over the stud wall, unsupported. He was moving around to nail the joists down, when he stepped on the supported edge and fell to the ground. He sustained a fracture to his back. Employee #1 was taken to University Medical Center (UMC) Hospital in Fresno, CA., where he was hospitalized.
