Employees injured in collapse of trench

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on June 9, 2004, Employees #1 and #2 were working at a jobsite where a water-transmission pipeline had been installed. Both employees were located in a trench that was approximately 4-feet deep, hand-digging in order to locate test station wires and install a G5 Box. As Employees #1 and #2 located the wires and were bringing them to the surface, one of the sides of the trench, approximately 10-feet long by 2- or 3-feet wide, collapsed. Both employees were transported to San Joaquin General Hospital, French Camp. Employee #1 was hospitalized and treated for a fractured shoulder, while Employee #2 was treated for a fracture to his hip and released.
