Employee injured in fall while descending ladder

Employee #1, of Prince Telecom Holdings, Inc., was one of several installers working at a customer location in San Ramon, CA. He was on a ladder, having just hooked up a new cable for the old one. When he began to descend, his foot slipped on a rung and he fell about 20 ft to the pavement. Employee #1 suffered a fractured vertebra and a fractured right ankle. The employer was a contractor doing cable installation for the telecommunications industry.
