Employee's fingertip amputated in bottle conveyor

Employee #1, of the Hershey Chocolate and Confectionery Corporation, was on the third shift sanitation relief crew that cleaned up the plant machinery. The syrup filler was started prior to running the cleaning chemicals through it and Employee #1 tried to rinse her hands from the water dripping near the bottle conveyor. Her right hand became caught under the guard and the tip of her middle finger was amputated near the first knuckle.
