Employee injured when struck by falling garage door frame

On September 1, 1999, Employee #1, age 18, was working as a laborer for a company that builds single-family homes. He was erecting a garage wall frame when a garage door frame with a heavy, glue-laminated header fell and struck his back and shoulders, driving his head into two vertical PVC pipes. He sustained a hairline skull fracture and circular lacerations above both eyes.
