Employee injured in fall when thrown from pruning tower

On December 13, 1999, Employee #1 and coworkers were using an orchard pruning tower to limb every other 50 to 60 ft tall walnut tree before felling them. A fallen tree top kicked back over a limb and under the tower's basket, pivoting up with enough force to eject Employee #1 about 20 ft horizontally from the tower as he fell approximately 25 ft to the ground. He sustained fractures of his left shoulder and ribs, for which he was hospitalized.
