Employee's arm caught in almond hulling machine

On December 28, 1998, Employee #1, a maintenance mechanic for an almond farmer, was unjamming an almond huller cylinder. He was pulling on the beater pegs when the cylinder suddenly unjammed and began rotating, pulling his hand and arm into the pinch points formed by the beater pegs and the metal fingers. Employee #1 suffered serious puncture wounds in his arm, for which he was hospitalized.
