Investigation Summary
At 11:45 a.m. on August 15, 2017, Employee #1 and Coworker #1, employed by a fire protection company, were installing overhead fire sprinklers at a multiemployer building construction project. They had placed plywood sheets on top of exposed steel ceiling joists to use as work platforms. Employee #1 was moving from one plywood sheet to another when he fell to the concrete floor, a fall height of approximately 9 feet. Emergency services were called, and Employee #1 was transported to the hospital. He was admitted and treated for multiple fractured ribs.
