Employee struck and injured by passing motor vehicle

On June 13, 2001, Employee #1 was operating a truck inspecting the functionality of drip-irrigation nozzles in a vineyard of a winery. To check the nozzles, he drove the truck down the rows of the vineyard. As he drove from one row to the next, he crossed a driveway and was struck by another motor vehicle, a car. The impact of the car upon his truck displaced Employee #1 from the driver seat to other locations within the cab of the truck. Employee #1 received several fractures to bone through out his body system as the forciful displacements caused him to strike multiple objects within the cab. Emergency medical services were summoned to the site after the collision of the two vehicles. The paramedics administered first aid and then transported Employee #1 and the other individual to the hospital. Employee #1 was hospitalized for treatment and care of the injuries sustained in the accident.
