Employee's Thumb Amputated by Saw

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on April 19, 2001, Employee #1, a carpenter for Lacey Construction was assigned to complete the installation of wooden thresholds. He was cutting a piece of wood with a saw which did not have a guard to cover the exposed saw blade. Employee #1 amputated part of his left thumb and was transported to Davies Medical Center where he was hospitalized for his injury.
