Employee falls and fractures his hip

At approximately 6:45 a.m. on March 28, 2002, Employee #1 was working as a Sheet Metal Worker for Trayer Engineering Corporation. He was walking around a Hillacme machine (metal working machine) where a new shipment of hot roll flat bars, approximately 22 ft by 24 ft in length, were placed in the middle of the walkway at the main shop (Metal Rack Area). They were still being held by a crane. Employee #1 tripped on the roll flat bars and fell. He twisted his body, hit the concrete floor and fractured his hip. He was moved to St. Luke's Hospital in San Francisco where he was hospitalized with a fracture.
