Event: 03/29/1997
Two employees killed in murder and suicide shootings

At approximately 3:40 p.m. on March 29, 1997, Employee #1 drove to the D.A.T. Farms Nursery in Gilroy, CA. He saw Employee #2 at the work site and began to harass and call her names. He left the area and then returned, continuing to call her names. Employee #2 picked up a phone and dialed 911. While she was speaking to the operator, Employee #1 pulled a revolver from his waistband and shot her. Employee #2 sustained several gunshot wounds to the neck, chest, and abdomen, and was killed instantly. Employee #1 then shot himself in the head. He died immediately.
