Employee injures back in fall from scaffold

At approximately 11:00 a.m. on December 22, 2003, Employee #1, a carpenter, was installing metal arching on the front exterior of a retail store under construction from a scaffold. He was standing on 2-inch by 14-inch scaffold planks and was clamping one end while a coworker was clamping the other end. As he stepped on one of the planks, the planks shifted and he fell approximately 10 feet to the ground. He was hospitalized with a back injury.
