Employee injured after lumber crane tipped over

On February 6, 2002, Employee #1, a knuckleboom crane operator, of Big Creek Lumber Company was removing large pieces of lumber from the green moving chain belt assembly and restacking them in the yard storage area. As the crane rotated along a 90-degree axis, the swivel attachment sustained a massive metal failure, causing the crane to keel over and dropping Employee #1 straight down, landing on his head. He suffered concussion and was hospitalized.
