Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202312286
Event: 07/08/1999
Employee injured in fall from scaffold

On July 8, 1999, Employee #1, a laborer for San Marino Plastering, was constructing a scaffold at the Merida Tract in Palo Alto, California. He was constructing the fourth level when he had a brace that wouldn't quite get on the pin. He tried to force the brace onto the pin, and as he leaned into it to give added pressure, it slipped off the tip of the pin and his weight carried him over the edge of the scaffold. Employee #1 fell 35 feet to the ground, causing multiple fractures, and he was hospitalized.
