Employee Amputates Finger in Lift Gate, Later Dies

At approximately 9:51 a.m. on September 10, 2007, an employee was preparing to unload merchandise from a hauling truck. The truck was equipped with a folding lift gate. He was unfolding the lift gate when his right index finger got caught in between the lift gate's panels. His finger was amputated at the first digit. The employee later dies.
