Event: 07/26/2007
Employee Is Injured in Fall from Platform

On July 27 2007, Employee #1 was assigned to work with another employee to prune tree branches. They used a rented Baraga Model Number SS-836 Square Shooter tractor to reach the tree branches. The coworker operated the tractor while Employee #1 rode on a wood platform attached to the tractor's forks. Employee #1 was harnessed to the forks and elevated approximately 20 ft from the ground. Employee #1 was cutting a tree branch when the tractor tilted over and fell on its left side. The coworker jumped off to the right of the tractor and escaped injuries. Employee #1 fell with the equipment and landed in a dry creek and sustained head injuries, pulmonary contusion and facial abrasions and was hospitalized.
