Employee amputates finger in fall from ladder

On July 29, 2005, Employee #1 was installing metal racks from an 8 ft ladder within a cold storage warehouse. During the installation work, he lost his footing and grabbed onto a rail. As he grasped the rail, one of his fingers became caught in the railing, resulting in a severe laceration. Employee #1 was transported to the hospital, where medical personnel amputated the injured finger. Following the surgical procedure, he was hospitalized for postoperative treatment and care.
