Employee Is Injured in Fall Through Floor Opening

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on May 13, 2005, Employee #1, a carpenter, was working with a crew installing roof sheathing on a one-story school building. He and a coworker were snapping lines on the sheathing to mark where it would be nailed to the rafters. While holding one end of the snap line, he walked into an unprotected 24-inch by 48-inch opening and fell 12.5 feet to the ground. He was hospitalized with a concussion.
