Event: 01/24/2005
Roofer Steps on Nail and Suffers Puncture Wound

At approximately 2 p.m. on January 24, 2005, a roofing crew was repairing damage to the roof and fascia of a single-family house. A tree limb that fell onto the roof caused the damage. An employee climbed a ladder to replace a roof tarp over the damaged area. As he walked back to the ladder, he stepped onto a protruding roofing nail and suffered a puncture wound in his left foot. He was initially treated at a medical clinic, but when an infection developed, he was hospitalized for four days.
