Investigation Summary
At approximately 11:55 a.m. on December 20, 2004, Employee #1, a roofer, was on a new round top roof of a single family home, when he fell approximately 19.8 ft. Employee #1 complained of chest pain and breathing problems to emergency personnel, and was taken to the hospital. The employer stated that Employee #1 was a subcontractor and not a permanent employee of his company. The employer did not have employees and carried no workers compensation insurance. Employee #1 was not a licensed contractor. Employee #1 could not be contacted for an interview. Employee #1's injuries remain unknown. It is suspected that Employee #1 was not a legal employee.
