Employee's fingertip amputated in wood shaper

Employee #1 was making a special type of cut on a curved piece of wood, so he swung aside the feeder to the wood shaper to feed in the wood by hand. His left index finger struck against the rotating blade, amputating the tip. There was no cage or adjustable guard on the wood shaper.
