Employee Fractured Ankle in Fall from Utility Pole

A cable technician had climbed to a height of about 6.1 meters above the ground on a utility pole. As he was changing position on the pole and setting one of his gaffs, he was pushed away and lost his balance. He grabbed the suspension strand, but could not hang on and fell. He was hospitalized with fractures of a vertebra and his left heel and ankle. The foot injuries required surgery.
