EMPLOYEE INJURED WHEN FINGER CAUGHT IN PILEDRIVER

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on April 1, 1998, Employee #1 was working at a job site where pile driving was taking place. As the pile driver follower was being manipulated by hand, Employee #1 grabbed hold of the follower to help, but his finger slipped into an open slot on the follower and his fingertip was amputated as the slot closed. Employee #1 was hospitalized for treatment and surgery.
