Event: 03/16/1999

Employee injured when run over by car

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on March 16, 1999, Employee #1, an underground pipe marker, had finished marking the street and was peeking through a hole in a steel plate to check the alignment. As he was bent over looking into the hole, an automobile came slowly from behind. The car knocked him down, rolled over him, and dragged him until Employee #1 was able to free himself. A nearby city employee witnessed the incident, radioed for help, and went to assist Employee #1. He sustained a fractured pelvis and injuries to his ribs and right shoulder.
