Employee's Thumb Is Amputated by Portable Saw

At 3:30 p.m on October 11, 2008, Employee #1, an owner/builder (only for this one day), was performing repairs on his own personal mobile home trailer. He was cutting a 2 by 4 that was 24 inches long with a portable Skil saw (Model Number HDTM,HG 222399) running with the grain. When he hit a knot, the saw kicked back, amputating his left thumb at the joint.
