Employee Amputates Finger While Using Splitter

At approximately 8:15 a.m. on July 27, 2009, Employee #1 was splitting a log with a log splitter when his left index finger got caught between the splitting wedge and a metal block on the splitter frame and was amputated. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
