Event: 11/13/2010
Employee Dislocates Hip from Jumping Off a Truck

At approximately 4:30 am, on November 13 2010, Employee #1, a dump truck driver of Cline Cellars, Inc. arrived at the winery site in the Peterbuilt semi-tractor with end dump trailer. He was hauling a load of sand from Red Bluff to the winery in Sonoma, CA. Employee #1 positioned the vehicle on level ground in front of an existing pile of sand. After he'd raised the dump bed to its maximum height, he doubted the entire load had been dumped. As he exited the cab, the vehicle began to tip to the right. He was thrown or jumped to the left, away from the vehicle, landing on the ground, dislocating his right hip. Employee #1 laid on the ground for approximately 2 hours until Employee #2 arriving for work found him and retrieved the cell phone left in the truck cab, and call for help. Employee #1 was transported to Sonoma Valley Hospital in Sonoma, Ca where he remained after his hip was relocated because the joint was unstable.
