Worker Falls from Roof and Sustains Multiple Fractures

On May 15, 2013, a roofer, employed by Armstrong Installation Service dba Armstrong Paint, was constructing a new roof on an existing residential structure. He was on the roof and using a leaf blower. He slipped and fell to the ground below, a distance of approximately 32 feet. He was transported to the hospital, admitted, and treated for fractured ribs and vertebrae. The employer reported to Cal/OSHA's Santa Rosa District office on May 15, 2013. The subsequent investigation determined that Employee #1 was not using fall protection.
