Investigation Summary

At 9:45 a.m. on July 18, 2017, an employee made a the delivery to private residence. After making the delivery the employee probably walked straight back to his truck that was parked in the cul-da-sac. This was along an approximate 100 meter long sidewalk that came from the condo directly to the main street. Where the sidewalk meets the street is a community mailbox which is located under an open sided shingled shed structure. When reviewing the incident site, a wasp nest was found hanging from the shed ceiling. All but a few insects were in a paralyzed state of death. The employee was probably unaware of the nest and was stung in the face, near his jaw, on his way back to his delivery truck. The employee called 911. The 911 dispatcher was able to gather from the employee that he had been stung by bees and had used his epipen. The dispatcher then noted he became unresponsive, he dropped his phone, and that they could hear snoring respirations. Paramedics arrived on the scene at 9:53 a.m. The patient was found in the driver's seat of the FedEx truck hypnotic and with a barely palpable pulse. The employee was removed from the truck and the Bag-Valve-Mask ventilation was started and the patient improved. During transport his pulse and respiratory rate was zero. The employee died from an allergic reaction to a insect bite.
