Investigation Summary
At 2:00 p.m. on July 19, 2017, an employee was assisting with the lifting of four 16 foot metal studs. The employee was guiding the rope used in lifting the metal studs through the stairwell when he was struck in the head by one of the studs that became loose in the package and fell. Coworkers found the employee after he had been struck by the stud and it lodged into his head. Emergency Services responded and transported the employee to OC Global in Santa Anna. The employee suffered a fractured skull, right parietal traumatic intracerebral hemorrhage, right parietal traumatic subdural hematoma, brain edema, and brain compression with midline shift. The employee was admitted to the hospital on July 22, 2017, and released on August 16, 2017. .
