Investigation Summary
At 2:00 p.m. on July 19, 2017, an employee was assisting with the lifting of fou r 16 foot metal studs. The employee was guiding the rope used in lifting the me tal studs through the stairwell when he was struck in the head by one of the stu ds that became loose in the package and fell. Coworkers found the employee afte r he had been struck by the stud and it lodged into his head. Emergency Service s responded and transported the employee to OC Global in Santa Anna. The employ ee suffered a fractured skull, right parietal traumatic intracerebral hemorrhage , right parietal traumatic subdural hematoma, brain edema, and brain compression with midline shift. The employee was admitted to the hospital on July 22, 2017 , and released on August 16, 2017. .
