ELECTRIC SHOCK - DIRECT CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE

A three-person power line crew was installing new crossarms on a 4800-volt, three-phase delta overhead power line. The crew was working at a utility pole. One of the employees climbed it to cover the primary and secondary phase conductors. He was handed a pair of rubber insulating gloves, and he put them on. At some point, he removed the gloves and contacted one of the conductors. He was transported to a hospital, where he died of electrocution.
