Employee's finger amputated by core saw

Employee #1 was stacking cardboard cores near a core saw. The saw return arm broke, causing the saw blade to stay activated in an extended position. Employee #1 noticed that the core was kicked out of the guide, causing the core to ravel downline. Employee #1 attempted to realign the core in the guides and stuck his finger into the activated saw blade. His finger was amputated and he was hospitalized.
