Employee dies a day after 11 ft fall

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on January 27, 1994, Employee #1, of Don Schulz Roofing, fell from an upper level roof when he attempted to access a lower roof area by swinging his body over the edge of the upper roof and dropping to the lower roof area, which was approximately 7 1/2 ft below. The employee struck the lower roof area, then fell approximately 11 1/2 ft to a concrete floor pad. He was flown by Life Flight to Emmanuel Hospital, but he never regained consciousness. Employee #1 was disconnected from life support and pronounced dead at 10:00 a.m. on January 28, 1994.
