Employee treated for carbon monoxide poisoning after cooking

Employee #1 was performing his normally assigned duty of cooking meals in a kitchen for the employees at the worksite. The kitchen consisted of a converted mobile trailer with a propane fuel source. On the day of the incident, October 25, 1993, Employee #1 cooked meals from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. After serving meals to the employees from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. and closing, cleaning, and counting the money in the trailer from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Employee #1 returned to the main office where he complained of nausea and dizziness. He collapsed and emergency service was summoned. Employee #1 was treated for carbon monoxide poisoning for approximately 2 hours on site and then transported to the hospital for additional treatment.
