Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 170742548
Event: 04/11/1994
Employee injures legs in fall from tree

On April 8, 1994, Employee #1 was climbing a tree to trim limbs away from the power line. He was up approximately 50 to 60 ft in the tree with his safety line secured around the tree. As Employee #1 moved his climbing rope up around the next set of limbs, the safety line broke, causing him to fall unobstructed to the ground, landing on his lower torso. Other coworkers in the area heard Employee #1 yell and responded immediately. He was later transferred by ambulance to Pacific Communities Hospital where he was admitted and treated for leg injuries.
