ELECTRIC SHOCK - CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE THRU POLE

A mechanic arrived at a site to repair a vehicle just as a power line crew was lifting a utility pole out of the ground. The crew foreman asked the mechanic to guide the bottom of the pole. The top of the pole contacted an overhead power line; and the mechanic, who was not wearing rubber insulating gloves, received an electric shock and burns. He was hospitalized for his injuries.
