Employee killed in jump from overturning tractor trailer

Employee #1, who was trained and qualified, was driving a tractor trailer that was loaded with garbage. He attempted twice to back up a dirt ramp. On the second attempt, the tractor trailer's back rear tires went off the side of the ramp, causing the tractor trailer to slowly turn over. Employee #1 unhooked his safety belt and jumped from the overturning vehicle. He landed on the hard dirt headfirst. Employee #1 died of severe head injuries on August 24, 1995.
