Investigation Summary
At 1:00 p.m. on May 31, 2017, an employee was sorting pallets on a Smetco G600 Pallet Sort Machine. As the pallets were passing through the sorter, the employee attempted to pull out a stray piece of wrapper left from the packing. The employee was not aware that the other end of that wrapper was already entangled in the roller. The employee wrapped the stray wrapper around his left arm and hand to yank it out of the sorter but was pulled into the conveyor. The employee sustained a left arm fracture.
