Employee amputates fingers while cleaning IKA machine

At 10:00 p.m. on June 5, 2017, an employee was cleaning an IKA sugar machine. During cleaning, stored energy was released from the machine, causing the auger to freely spin and contact the employees hands. Two fingers were amputated as a result.
