Investigation Summary
Employee #1 was picking up brush and cutting limbs from a Douglas fir that was being felled in sections. His coworker, a tree climber/cutter, had made a back cut, and before he started on the face cut, he shouted for other employees to clear the area. As the coworker made the final cut, Employee #1 walked under the tree and started to cut up a fallen limb. The tree fell, striking him on the head. Employee #1 was killed.
