Employee injured by exploding grinding wheel

Employee #1, of Varicast, Inc., was standing in front of a 24 in. diameter grinding wheel. As he put a part against the wheel, the grinding wheel exploded. Pieces of the wheel struck him in the face. The force of the explosion blew off the work rest, which struck Employee #1 in the area between the lower abdomen and knees. Employee #1 sustained injuries including, but not limited to, lacerations to both legs, bruising, and amputation of a testicle.
