Investigation Summary
At 11:30 a.m. on June 02, 2017, an employee was working in a vineyard that was being torn out. He had arrived at his work site in the vineyard at approximately 6:00 am. The vines had already been cut and the crew he was working in were moving the vines to the center of the rows. At approximately 11:30 am, the employee suddenly collapsed while walking out of the field to take a lunch break. He did not complain or report any symptoms prior to his collapse. He was immediately taken to a shaded area and 911 was called. The employee's immediate supervisor was the Crew Boss, and he was working in the same area as employee. The employee suffered a sudden fatal cardiac arrest due to natural causes.
