Employee's fingers partially amputated by chop saw

On August 17, 1993, Employee #1 was employed as a chop saw (jump saw) operator in a millwork plant. The employee somehow placed her right hand under the hood guard and, when the knee-activated pneumatic trigger was engaged, the saw blade came up and partially amputated three of her fingers. Employee #1 was transported to Ashland Community Hospital in Ashland, Oregon, where she was admitted and treated for her injuries.
