Employee injured in fall from roof

Employee #1 was installing a cedar roof on a single family dwelling with an eave-to-ground height of 14 ft 10 in. and a pitch of 12 to 12. Employee #1 fell from the roof's dormer to the ground, fracturing his back. He was not using fall protection. He was flown by Med-Evac helicopter to Fairfax Hospital and then he transferred himself to Silver Spring Hospital.
