Employee dies of asphyxia when dryer falls on him

At 6:10 a.m. on December 8, 1993, Employee #1 was repairing an air hose on an industrial laundry dryer. He had tilted the dryer tumbler up about 20 degrees and was lying underneath the frame and bottom sections to repair the dryer. After a few minutes, the dryer tumbler collapsed and crushed and pinned Employee #1's head and chest between the concrete floor and the dryer's steel bar frame. Employee #1 died of traumatic asphyxia.
