Investigation Summary
At 1:59 p.m. on March 29, 2017, an employee was standing adjacent to a vehicle checking the oil level on the dipstick after completeing an oil change on the vehicle. The employee had directed the driver to start the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle had not engaged the parking brake and the vehicle was in gear when it was started. The vehicle then moved in the direction of the employee pinning the employee between the vehicle and equipment in the immediate area. The employee suffered from a broken leg.
