Investigation Summary
At 8:05 a.m. on April 10, 2017, an employee was using a Sonoco Core Cutting saw in the re-coiler area of T-20. The employee was in the process of adjusting the saw when he reached behind the vertical angle support to hold the nut with the wrench, the wrench slipped. His right hand made contact with the saw blade that was running, amputating the tip of his middle finger and lacerating the other fingers on his right hand.
