Employee Is Splicing Electrical Wires Together And Is Burned

At 10:00 a.m. on March 7, 2017, an employee was splicing electrical wires carryi ng 1,600v DC that were connected to Solar Panels and a combiner box. The employ ee thought the wires were isolated from the circuit breaker but did not physical ly verify that. As he spliced the wires with a non-insulated side cutter, the e mployee received an electrical shock and was severely burned on his right hand. The employee was airlifted to the Central Region Medical Center Fresno and admi tted for treatment.
