Event: 03/07/2017
Employee is splicing electrical wires together and is burned

At 10:00 a.m. on March 7, 2017, an employee was splicing electrical wires carrying 1,600v DC that were connected to Solar Panels and a combiner box. The employee thought the wires were isolated from the circuit breaker but did not physically verify that. As he spliced the wires with a non-insulated side cutter, the employee received an electrical shock and was severely burned on his right hand. The employee was airlifted to the Central Region Medical Center Fresno and admitted for treatment.
